Young people aged 14–18 who are interested in gaining hands-on experience of the world of work and exploring future career opportunities.
This placement is ideal for those who are curious, willing to learn, and keen to build confidence in a professional environment. Whether you already have a career in mind or are still exploring your options, this is a great opportunity to try something new, develop key skills, and get a real insight into how teams work day to day.
No previous experience is needed—just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved!
What’s This All About?
Step into the world of environmental management and discover how we help protect our environment while keeping essential services running every day. During this placement, you'll spend time with our Environmental and Waste Process Management teams, learning how we monitor, manage, and improve the processes that support the treatment of water and waste across our operations.
You'll gain a behind-the-scenes insight into what happens both before water reaches our customers and after it leaves homes and businesses, exploring the journey of water and waste through our network. Working alongside office-based teams, you'll learn how data, planning, compliance, and environmental monitoring help us make informed decisions and meet environmental standards.
Through interactive activities and real-life examples, you'll discover how different teams work together to ensure waste is managed responsibly, resources are used efficiently, and our impact on the environment is reduced. This is a great opportunity to explore a career in environmental management while developing your understanding of sustainability, problem-solving, and business operations.
