Site Supervisor
LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
At Hafren Dyfrdwy, we’re passionate about delivering clean, safe water and caring for the environment across Wales. We’re more than a water company – we’re a team committed to sustainability, innovation, and supporting the communities we serve. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and be part of a purpose-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
LET’S TELL YOU MORE
We’re looking for a proactive and hands‑on Site Supervisor to oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of construction, maintenance, and Lead Free Wales or capital project works. If you enjoy being at the centre of on‑site activity—coordinating teams, solving problems, and keeping everything running safely and efficiently—this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.
In this role, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring all site operations are carried out safely and in line with health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, and company policies. You will lead daily site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings, while also reporting and investigating any incidents or near misses. Keeping accurate safety documentation will be an important part of your day‑to‑day work.
You’ll coordinate the on‑site workforce, manage logistics, oversee site access and inductions, and monitor progress against project timelines. When issues, delays, or risks arise, you’ll act quickly and escalate them to the Team Manager to keep work on track. Quality is another key focus of the role—you will check that the right materials and methods are being used, verify work against technical drawings and specifications, and maintain detailed site records, including photographs, diaries, and audit information.
Strong communication will be essential. You’ll provide daily updates to the Team Manager, work closely with operational teams to minimise disruption, and support the planning of any site shutdowns or isolations. You’ll also ensure all documentation, permits, and compliance records are completed accurately and stored correctly. In addition, you’ll assist with change control processes, commissioning, testing, and handover materials, while supporting audits and following up on any required actions.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
To succeed as a Site Supervisor, you’ll bring solid experience overseeing construction, maintenance, or utility projects. You’ll have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work, and you’ll feel confident communicating with different teams and keeping everyone coordinated on site. Attention to detail is important, so you’ll be comfortable maintaining accurate site records and documentation. We’re also looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, and make good decisions when situations change.
It would be an advantage if you have experience working in the water or utilities sector, or within capital maintenance environments. Knowledge of permit-to-work systems, CDM responsibilities, or experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams would also be beneficial. Familiarity with digital tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint, or FSM is helpful, but not essential.
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll already hold a CSCS Supervisor card or equivalent, or be willing to work towards it. SSSTS or SMSTS certification is also desirable, and First Aid at Work would be an added bonus. A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
