Are you driven by data, strategy and the challenge of lifting performance across a complex operational environment? We’re looking for a dynamic Waste Networks Strategy & Performance Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Waste Networks.
You'll be based at between our Raynesway site in Derby and our Head office in Coventry. You’ll work within our Strategy and Performance team, leading a team of talented Performance Analysts and Data & Analytic Managers. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week with travel to meetings across different sites to be expected.
Working side‑by‑side with our Head of Waste Networks, you’ll turn insight into action—developing medium and long‑term strategies, driving an outperformance culture, and ensuring our operational teams are delivering against both in‑year objectives and long‑term AMP8 and AMP9 targets.
This is a role for a commercially minded, analytically brilliant leader who can influence at every level—from frontline crews to the CEO. You’ll provide clear, meaningful performance insight, challenge and support operational leaders, and help steer critical business decisions that unlock better service, greater efficiency and long‑term value for our customers.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded leader who brings deep experience from a large field‑based operational environment. You’ll have a strong track record of delivering sustained performance improvements across diverse teams, both direct and indirect, and of operating effectively with senior stakeholders. You’ll pair this with a genuine passion for customer service, commercial excellence, and health & safety. Highly resilient and collaborative, you’ll be comfortable making sound decisions under pressure and in ambiguous situations, simplifying complex information so it’s clear and actionable for others.
We’re also looking for someone who is naturally curious, data‑driven, and eager to challenge established ways of working. You’ll bring advanced analytical capability, a proactive mindset for continuous improvement, and the creativity to identify fresh opportunities that deliver transformational change. With strong interpersonal, negotiating and leadership skills, you’ll inspire and develop your team while contributing positively to the wider management community. Above all, you’ll role‑model empowering leadership, authenticity, a strong customer mindset, and a drive for high performance.
