We have a fantastic opportunity to join us at Severn Trent as a Trunk Mains Specialist. This opportunity is based in Derbyshire.
Being involved with the multi award winning Trunk Main Team, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the effective response and repair of all trunk mains. We also complete capital schemes, to ensure proactive activity is taking place to improve our networks resilience. You will support the team manager in operating and maintaining our Strategic Network safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
Your area would be for non-Aqueducts mains from our Water Treatment Assets and storage Reservoirs all the way to our DMAs that are above 12”. You would assist operations for all these assets that are above 12” in size and up to 60” in size and support the wider Water networks team on DMA mains repairs that are above 12”.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You will also be experienced in working collaboratively with contract partners and stakeholders across a large geographical area. Also, in the of building and developing of effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll also have a real focus on Health Safety and Well Being to ensure that nobody gets hurt or made unwell by our activities and ensure full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:
- You will assist the Team Manager with leading and supporting the Trunk Main Operatives, including day to day supervision on reactive incidents as well as capital schemes. This will involve working across multiple STW and external departments and regulators.
- You will proactively manage and enhance both the internal and external relationship with all key parties including contractors, STW teams, Network Control, Water Treatment, Customer Delivery, and other supporting departments. You will also identify mitigation measures to reduce or prevent No Supply eruptive burst and promote long term solutions with Asset Optimisation Teams.
- You will lead in trunk main repairs for any issues that require escalation and business support. This can include legislative requirements around water quality, health and safety and land access.
- You will work with the Asset Optimisation team to provide operational and technical input to ensure capital investment provides a product compatible with operational needs and maintenance practices.
- You will ensure consistent use and application of standardised practices and procedures for the management of H&S and water quality risks, with full adherence to and promotion of the Company principles
- You will enable the team to manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Trunk Main assets through allocated resources and use Construction Design Management (CDM) for complex works.
- Identify asset investment requirements and any residual risks arising from operational activities and record details on the company’s risk management database.
