Hello, we’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. Oh, we’re pretty keen on people too.

If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Here at Severn Trent, we have a network of trackers and alarms which keep us up to date with what is happening on our water grid.  We use a telemetry system called eSCADA, and this helps us manages the performance of our remote assets on a 24/7 basis across the whole of the Severn Trent region.

We currently have an opportunity to join our Telemetry Updates team as our Telemetry E2E Testing Technician.

In this role you’ll ensure the system runs smoothly with no issues. You will be responsible for facilitating the End to End (E2E) testing activities of the system.

Additionally you’ll be focusing on driving improvements in our telemetry data quality by checking and auditing of the eSCADA configuration.  Alongside this you will also be responsible for the creation and modification of simple eSCADA configuration to agreed standards.  You will have communication with several our key stakeholders within the wider business and it will be vital to ensure the highest standards of telemetry data are maintained.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

Co-ordinate and undertake eSCADA telemetry commissioning and E2E testing
Test telemetry outstation/signals in conjunction with field staff
Produce commissioning and testing management information
Identify opportunities to improve eSCADA configuration
Create and modify simple eSCADA configuration

Manage the team planning with our key stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

To be successful, it’s expected that you’ll have an in-depth consumer and commercial understanding, whilst being a truly strategic and customer-centric thinker with your approach. We operate in a fast-paced and dynamic setting, so you’ll need to be fluid in your approach and have the courage to hold yourself and others accountable to high quality work, delivered on-time to agreed timescales.

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
