Our Network Resilience Team is offering an exciting opportunity to join us as a Strategic Network Specialist. This is a key role at the centre of our long term resilience plans and supports some of the most important programmes in the company.
You will help ensure our strategic network and major resilience assets are always ready to respond, while also leading the planning and coordination of essential EVA activities that keep our customers supplied and our systems secure.
This role is essential in ensuring we meet our defined standards and that we deliver for our customers, communities, and the environment. The significance of the work you’ll do as a Strategic Network Specialist makes this such an exciting project to be a part of.
As a Strategic Network Specialist you will:
- Maintain the readiness of our strategic resilience assets and ensure they are able to support both planned and unexpected events
- Support the safe operation of Birmingham Resilience Mode during outages and major operational activity
- Monitor, assess and report on asset condition, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Produce operational documents such as audits, surveys, procedures and network schematics
- Lead the planning and coordination of EVA interventions across CCS delivery, AMP programmes and Aqueduct maintenance
- Facilitate cross team workshops to track progress, manage dependencies and keep activities on schedule
- Produce programme reports that give clear insight into performance, risk and next steps
- Lead the development of programme plans and risk and contingency documents
- Review completed interventions, gather learning and identify improvement actions
- Support planning horizons from short term activity through to long term strategic programmes
- Develop business cases and investment requests that will help shape future resilience across our region
- Work closely with colleagues across Water Treatment, Water Resources, Network Control, Aqueducts and senior leaders

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Strong experience in Water Treatment, Hydraulics, Network Operations or Water Quality
- Experience planning and coordinating complex programmes or operational interventions
- Strong analytical capability and experience producing insight rich reports
- Experience delivering detailed project or programme audits
- Strong stakeholder management and cross functional working experience
- The confidence to challenge, influence and lead discussions across the business
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver to agreed timescales
- A continuous improvement mind set and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Experience using programme planning tools and performance tracking systems
A relevant degree and experience in a programme management environment are both desirable.
A full UK driving licence is required.
