EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Are you passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring safe waste management practices? We’re looking for a dedicated professional to help safeguard our sewerage systems and uphold our statutory responsibilities around Trade Effluent disposal.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in protecting our company’s assets and reputation by managing risks associated with commercial waste and unauthorised discharges. You’ll be responsible for collecting and analysing data to support accurate billing and forecasting of commercial waste income across a defined geographical area.
You’ll also help prevent pollution incidents by monitoring non-domestic discharges into foul and surface water systems. Effective communication with retailers is essential, and you’ll ensure this is managed in line with our industry Code of Practice.
As an active member of the Trade Effluent Leadership Team, you’ll contribute to driving team performance and supporting key working groups. You’ll also provide valuable advice and mentorship to colleagues, and offer operational support to the Trade Effluent Manager, Advisors, and Technicians.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Trade Effluent Management:
Oversee the permitting, control, and charging of Trade Effluent discharges within a designated area. Ensure compliance with consent conditions and proactively manage risks to protect company assets and reputation.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with customers, retailers, and internal teams. Provide expert advice and support, ensuring clear communication and resolution of issues. Deliver outstanding customer service and help resolve complaints effectively.
Incident Response & Compliance:
Respond to pollution incidents, working closely with operational teams to identify sources, mitigate impacts, and support legal action where necessary. Ensure robust contingency planning and regulatory compliance.
Team Leadership & Development:
Mentor and guide colleagues, support technician performance, and contribute to team consistency and competency development. Deputise for the manager when needed and lead by example in driving high standards.
Data & Process Excellence:
Validate and interpret data for billing, forecasting, and regulatory reporting. Use systems like SAP to manage workflows and ensure accurate financial and operational outcomes.
Strategic Contribution:
Play an active role in leadership teams, working groups, and decision-making panels. Support continuous improvement initiatives and help shape the future of Trade Effluent strategy.
