If so, join Severn Trent’s River Health & Enhancement Team as a River Health Delivery Project Manager. In this critical and dynamic role, you will help shape and ensure successful delivery of our Spills Programme to meet our spills performance targets and environmental commitments.


We’re looking for multiple River Health Delivery Project Manager’s across the West Midlands to take on a dynamic and impactful role to make a tangible difference to River Health. These roles will be 12 month Fixed Term Contracts. 

 

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


We’re looking for an experienced driven professional to deliver innovative tactical solutions across multiple Severn Trent sites, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with health and safety, financial and asset compliance standards. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with asset and site owners, manage third-party contractors, and oversee the commissioning and validation of solutions to reduce spills. You’ll lead solution assessments, conduct site inspections, and produce high-quality documentation to support efficient project delivery.


With responsibilities ranging from budget management and stakeholder coordination to identifying spill reduction opportunities and maintaining governance standards, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a build on our spills investment programme. Key accountabilities will include:

  • Deliver multiple tactical solutions to optimise wastewater treatment and network performance across various sites.
  • Liaise with asset and site owners to ensure and manage compliance with health and safety, commercial, and process standards.
  • Manage third-party contractors delivering civil, mechanical, and ICA solutions, including oversight of commercial terms, health and safety, and performance.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely commissioning, testing, and client-witnessed validation where required.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks.
  • Lead solution option assessments and buildability reviews.
  • Gather and analyse key data (e.g. costs, asset parameters, site constraints) to support solution development. And produce high-quality documentation to support solution approval and enable efficient delivery.
  • Identify and pursue additional spill reduction opportunities and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align on designs, changes, and site coordination.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditure, and maintain accurate financial forecasts.
  • Monitor progress of solution development and delivery, ensuring adherence to quality and governance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Coordinator to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with capitalisation processes.
  • Continuously develop technical and project management skills.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
 

We’re seeking an experienced project manager with a strong background in large, complex, or multi-disciplinary projects - ideally within Waste Networks Operations, Wastewater Recycling, or related engineering fields.


You’ll have a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, working closely with supply chains and internal teams to meet milestones and quality standards.

 

You’ll be proactive and forward-thinking, skilled at anticipating challenges and developing effective solutions. You’re confident in analysing data and management information using tools like Power BI, SharePoint, and Excel, and adept at managing project documentation and communication.

 

You’ll lead meetings, workshops, and audits, playing a key role in facilitating discussions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring an all-rounded Project Management experience with a capability of managing varying solution types delivery across civil, electrical and instrumentation.


You’ll preferably have a degree in in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. As well as contractor management qualifications. Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
