Be part of our environmental emergency services, responding swiftly to waste and water events.
As a Pollution Response Team Manager, you’ll lead a team of skilled technicians, ensuring 24/7 readiness with cutting-edge equipment. Manage incidents, enhance team capabilities, and drive industry innovations. Ensure health and safety compliance, develop training processes, and act as the key link to our Operational Control Centre in Network Control.
You will be responsible for managing a team of Pollution Response Technicians, who mitigate pollutions in response to asset failure, developing their skills and response capabilities. You will work as part of a team who work a 24/7/365 rotating shift pattern from a central base location covering the Severn Trent region.
You’ll oversee the operational readiness of our equipment, vehicles, and workplace, and manage all activities related to waste-water incidents, including pumps, generators, nurse tanks, and tanker response. Build strong operational links with waste-water recycling and Waste Networks to expand our service offerings.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities:
- Pollution Management & Compliance: Reduce pollution incidents, oversee on-site wastewater events, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain adherence to SLAs.
- Team Leadership & Training: Inspire and lead the Pollution Response Team, ensure operational readiness, train and upskill technicians, and drive health and safety performance.
- Operational Efficiency & Innovation: Manage real-time monitoring, handle large-scale events, scout for innovative technologies, and manage the operational budget.
- Community & Incident Support: Represent Severn Trent Water in the community, support Waste OCC during incidents, and drive performance improvement and sustainability.
As a manager and figure head, we will look to you to provide an excellent customer service and provide essential feedback during and after incident responses while working proactively with all our stakeholders such as Environment Agency, ECAS, Customers and Contractors.
You’ll be expected to show passion and enthusiasm to embrace, identify and drive continuous improvement within the team.
This role may initially be based out of STC, Coventry, working a ‘Days’ pattern then will be moving to a 24/7 rotating shift pattern.
