EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW 


 

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join our team as a Network Water Quality Technician. You’ll be responsible for reacting to potential water quality risks on the network, help drive improvements to water quality and the customer complaint journey. You will be the onsite presences for our Water Quality Technical Experts.

 

This role also includes reactive deployment of bottled water as part of our Security & Emergency Measure Direction (SEMD).  

 

The key accountabilities of this role will include:

  • Reacting to onsite water quality risks or failures.
  • Undertaking operational investigations using specialist equipment such as mains water cameras or portable telemetry units.
  • Liaise with customers who have been experiencing water quality issues.
  • Carry out regular filter exchanges as part of our maintenance programme.
  • Collect water samples from the network.
  • Complete flushing tasks across all areas on the network to mitigate risks.
  • Rotate bottled water stock and deploy when required.
  • There will be a requirement for this role to be part of a standby rota and the successful applicants will be expected to typically work to an 7:00am-16:00pm window but be capable of working within an extended working window of 7am-7pm when on standby.
  • Company van is provided during the working hours but is be left at depot at the end of each working day.

 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE 
 

 

Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.

 

Apart from being a great fit for the team you’ll ideally have strong IT skills and be computer literate, know the water distribution system and highway and related codes of practice, have experience in equipped maintenance/ mechanical based work along with some experience in a technical training capacity and loading and lifting equipment.

 

You’ll have excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions, work well as a team and independently, handle pipework, traffic management equipment and tools, work unsupervised in all weathers.

 

As this role requires travel, you must hold a full UK Driving License, category C/C+E are desired.
