Which is why we are excited to announce we have an opportunity available within our Bioresources Logistics & Planning team as a Logistics Controller!

You’ll be responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of our tanker movements delivering Wastewater Recycling’s all-important sludge to Bioresources reception centres – generating cake, energy and gas. Bioresources Logistics manages a fleet of over 60 tankers and we’re responsible for the planned volume of sludge coming into our 26 reception centres.

This role plays a fundamental part of our Waste ecosystem.

The key accountabilities of this role will include:

  • Provide central contact point for Tanker Drivers, Wastewater Recycling, Contractors and other stakeholders while facilitating the planning and scheduling of sludge movements
  • Scheduling the Tanker Movements to meet compliance to base plan and balancing the scheduling of vehicle inspections, servicing & repair to ensure maximum tanker utilisation and high levels of customer service.
  • Manage tanker schedules on a pro-active (pre-planned) & reactive (unplanned) basis through close liaison with relevant stakeholders to maximise tanker resource efficiency whilst ensuring high levels of customer service.
  • Manage tanker bookings and communicate tanker schedules to relevant personnel / depts. This includes managing the booking of our contractors to achieve base plan compliance
  • Develop effective relationships with WWR managers to ensure high levels of customer service. Attend regular review and improvement meetings (comm cells)
  • Investigate efficiency opportunities & highlight areas of inefficiency with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with financial & performance targets and report as required.
  • Demonstrate role model behaviours and contribute to a safe working environment for all parties.

Apart from being a great fit for the team you’ll ideally have an understanding of operational performance metrics and managing budgets. You’ll also have strong IT and communications skills to manage a range of stakeholders at all levels.

As this role involves travel a Full UK Driving License is Required.
