Enterprise Risk Lead

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are seeing an Enterprise Risk Lead to join our ERM team. The Enterprise Risk Management team oversees Severn Trent Group's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, ensuring all ERM risks are assessed, recorded, and monitored.
Effective reporting is provided to the Executive Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Board for both Severn Trent Plc and Hafren Dyfrdwy. This supports the Group's strategic objectives and is a key pillar of our internal control framework.
The Enterprise Risk Lead will collaborate with senior stakeholders to foster a strong risk and control culture
Further responsibilities include:
- Lead report writing for the Executive, Audit & Risk Committee, and Board.
- Ensure timely and high-quality risk reporting and improvement actions.
- Identify emerging risks and changes to existing risks with senior stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships with the Senior Membership Team (SMT) members to focus on robust controls and ongoing risk management.
- Identify risk interdependencies across Severn Trent teams and enhance connectivity.
- Drive improvements in key processes and controls through ERM projects and initiatives.
- Ensure all risk information is fully populated in the risk management system to a high standard
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced professional in Risk, Compliance, or Audit functions with excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
The ideal candidate will be organised, possess strong report writing abilities, and have a pragmatic, curious mindset.
They should be capable of appraising scenarios, influencing senior leaders, and understanding risks to drive improvements.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, along with the ability to manage multiple activities and simplify complex ideas, are essential.
Leadership, negotiating skills, and the flexibility to travel are also required.
A qualification in Risk Management, Finance, or Assurance is advantageous, and a full UK driving license is necessary
