EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are seeking a Carbon Strategy Manager to lead the development and delivery of our Net Zero strategy for Bioresources by 2030. This role will be responsible for establishing our carbon baseline and managing a programme of operational and capital improvements to reduce emissions and achieve our sustainability targets.
Key Responsibilities
You will work across the business to influence and coordinate stakeholders, ensuring alignment with our carbon reduction goals. The role involves identifying innovative technologies and methods to mitigate carbon impact and supporting operational teams in implementing effective solutions. Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills will be essential to drive progress and embed carbon-conscious practices across our operations.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
As the Carbon Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the Net Zero strategy for Bioresources. This includes working closely with the central Net Zero team to understand and define the carbon baseline and taking full ownership of the roadmap to achieve Net Zero by 2030.
You will be accountable for delivering Bioresources-based projects, acting as an expert client throughout the process. This involves identifying and evaluating new technologies and processes that support carbon reduction and developing commercially viable proposals for investment in carbon-enhancing initiatives.
A key part of your role will be assessing project feasibility, identifying potential challenges, and proposing practical, low-carbon solutions. You’ll collaborate with Process Scientists to implement best available technologies and drive process improvements, ensuring decisions are made with carbon impact in mind.
You will also contribute to research and development efforts, identifying opportunities for innovation and highlighting investment needs. Your ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation will be essential, as you’ll be expected to shift thinking and embed a carbon-conscious approach to wastewater sludge treatment and management.
This role requires a strong understanding of carbon accounting principles and their application to operational activities. You should bring solid project management experience, particularly in fast-paced environments, and demonstrate commercial acumen in identifying and delivering growth opportunities. Experience in sewage sludge treatment processes and stakeholder engagement will be key to your success.
