Within Cyber Security specifically, we provide a critical national infrastructure to millions of customers in our region. This makes us a high-priority target for cyber criminals who attempt malicious activity on our IT systems, which if successful, could have disastrous consequences for our customers, colleagues, and the communities we serve.

  

Our Information Security team at do a wonderful job in protecting our business, our people, and our customers from these daily threats, and we have an opportunity for you to join the team as our new Associate Information Security Analyst.

 

You’ll play a key role in supporting the team to receive, investigate, triage, and respond to alerts for their relevance and urgency, including escalating findings to the Senior Information Security Analyst.

  

You’ll develop your skills and will learn to oversee and configure security monitoring tools and use these to carry out threat intelligence analysis that will find the perpetrator, the type of attack, and the data or systems impacted.

 

You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre head office in Coventry.  You’ll work within our dedicated information security team with around 12 other colleagues. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

we’re seeking for you to come from an IT background, ideally with experience gained from cyber security, audit, or risk management. We’d also like you to have some familiarity with Cloud platforms, working knowledge of Office 365, exposure to working with SaaS (or other aaS solutions) and an understanding of IT governance frameworks (such as GDPR, NIS).

 

You’ll need to have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence decision making with stakeholders. You’ll need to have good problem-solving skills alongside strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to work well under pressure.  

  

Due to the nature of this role, you’ll be required to be available for out of hours support for priority incidents
