Severn Trent Services is a £100 million turnover business, and we are seeking an Executive Assistant to the Managing Director.

This is a pivotal role for a highly proactive and exceptionally organised individual who will provide first‑class operational and administrative support to the MD, as well as his wider Executive Team.

As a trusted partner to the MD, this role goes beyond traditional diary management. Acting as an extension of the leader, you will help to coordinate critical cross‑functional initiatives, streamline communications, and ensure the MD’s priorities are clearly tracked, held to account, and successfully delivered.

 

This is an office based full time role, working Monday-Friday

 

Some of the key accountabilities include: -

  • Act as a trusted partner and extension of the MD, including representing them, protecting priorities, and supporting decision-making. For example - Building a strong, proactive working rhythm with the MD, understanding preferences, communication style, and strategic priorities.
  • Personal assistant focused tasked: Provide administrative support including complex diary management (with an extension in supporting the wider exec team in diary management), inbox triage, travel planning, and meeting preparation.
  • Act on independent thought, taking known judgment of MD into key discussions and managing stakeholders around the MD to ensure that decisions made are within the agreed boundaries, proactively drive both improvements and strategic vision of the MD.
  • Anticipate needs, prepare briefing materials, and ensure the leader is fully informed ahead of meetings and decisions.
  • Manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism, this role will be subject to highly confidential information, sensitive data and at times difficult messaging and situations that will require high levels of emotional intelligence for decision making judgement and resilience in challenging senior stakeholders

 

  • Be the central coordination point for navigating all senior stakeholders and support cross-functional alignment, anticipating needs from inbound stakeholder against MD priorities, and implement solutions that drive efficiency alongside challenge stakeholders constructively, prioritise competing demands, and help the MD focus on what matters most.
  • Ownership of light project management activities: timelines, MD decision and action logs, documentation, and stakeholder updates.  Ability to bring structure to ambiguous problems or new initiatives
  • Be the central communication point for synthesising information inbound to the MD, influencing without authority, and managing up effectively. For example - Ability to challenge constructively, prioritise competing demands, and aiding those around the MD to align to their prioritise and areas of key focus
  • Serve as a central point of contact, facilitating communication between teams, stakeholders, and the leader and be responsible for proactively challenging where needs, risks and deadlines are either at risk or identifying bottlenecks to implementations
  • Prepare concise updates, occasional dashboards, and summaries to keep the leader briefed on progress, risks, and issues across all STS key priorities
  • Follow up on agreed actions, ensuring owners deliver to expectations and keep on track to MD deadlines
  • Support change initiatives by helping organise workstreams, collating information, and ensuring alignment across the organisation.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have proven experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar hybrid role that includes project coordination, alongside exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills that enable you to manage multiple competing priorities with ease.

You will be naturally proactive, with strong problem‑solving ability and a high level of ownership and follow‑through, as well as a confident communication style that can be adapted to suit a wide range of stakeholders.

You will be comfortable working in ambiguity, able to create structure where needed, and confident using technology, with strong capability across productivity tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams and project tracking systems.
