Directed Delivery is building a new delivery model for the water industry, partnering directly with Tier 2 contractors, using modern construction methods and setting new standards in safety, quality and project performance.

We're looking for a confident, forward-thinking Health & Safety Construction Manager (internal title: Senior Construction Manager) to lead our construction assurance team and help shape the way our contractors work. This role is all about raising standards, embedding digital and lean practices, and giving our projects the delivery confidence they need to succeed.

You'll work across engineering, health and safety, quality and project delivery teams, bringing strong site leadership, technical judgement and the ability to influence behaviours at all levels. You'll also help uplift contractor capability and play a key role in making Directed Delivery an industry-leading model.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide leadership across our construction assurance activities, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and delivery performance are consistently achieved across our projects and supply chain.

You'll work closely with project teams and contractors to improve ways of working, embed best practice and create a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

You'll also:

Drive high standards of construction health and safety performance
Lead construction assurance activities across a portfolio of projects
Support and influence contractors to improve capability and performance
Promote modern methods of construction, digital tools and lean delivery practices
Use data and insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with engineering, quality and project delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who can bring strong construction leadership combined with a passion for improving safety, performance and delivery standards.

You'll have:

Significant experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure or civils environments
Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, RAMS, temporary works and construction assurance processes
A people-centred leadership style with the confidence to challenge and influence
Experience working with contractors and improving supply chain performance
The ability to interpret data and use insight to drive decision making and continuous improvement
