Within our Capital Commercial team, we’re looking for Commercial Managers to join us in our Coventry, Derby and Shrewsbury offices.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our capital investment programme—working at the heart of projects that truly matter.
You’ll partner with colleagues across Design, Delivery, Finance and Legal, alongside our supply chain, to ensure we’re delivering the right outcomes for our customers and communities.
You’ll take ownership of commercial performance across a portfolio of projects driving value, managing risk, and ensuring strong supplier relationships.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Leading commercial activities across capital projects and frameworks
- Managing , supporting and developing Quantity Surveyors and early career professionals
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with our partners and suppliers
- Leading negotiations, tenders, and contract management (NEC4)
- Challenging and validating costs to ensure value for money
- Using data and insight to drive performance and continuous improvement
- Identifying risks and opportunities, helping shape successful project outcomes
- Developing and Implementing sourcing strategies and delivering commercial best practice across the team
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial expertise with a collaborative mindset and a passion for improvement.
Experience:
- Background as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar within construction or infrastructure sectors
- Experience managing contracts, suppliers, and project costs
- Ability to influence and challenge to achieve the right outcomes
- Knowledge of NEC contracts is helpful—but we’ll support you if you don’t have it yet
Skills & approach:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Great communication and stakeholder management
- A proactive, self-driven attitude
- A genuine focus on delivering value and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Professional membership (RICS/CIPS/other) is desirable
