We are looking for a Assistant Design Engineer to join our team and support the design of technical solutions for Severn Trent Water Mains Renewal Programmes. Including projects from the feasibility stage all the way through to detailed design.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As our new Assistant Design Engineer, you’ll be working alongside Design Engineers to design and deliver design packages that the programme and construction teams will take forward and construct, utilising desktop studies, site visits and peer reviews.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare and deliver information to stakeholders, including content, designs, and sketches for the mains renewal programme and subsequent construction.
- Collaborate with the programme team to ensure solutions are constructed and commissioned to the agreed design specification. Conduct preconstruction assessments through site visits to identify any unknown complexities.
- Help design solutions that deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions, liaising with internal and external experts. Identify and assess operational risks, ensuring health and safety are integrated into the design lifecycle. Maintain proactive risk management and risk registers throughout the design process.
- Production of CDM documentation, review and validate third-party deliverables, and support the programme team to ensure solutions meet design specifications. Participate in post-project reviews to appraise delivered solutions and capture learnings.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
For this role the right candidate will have experience in using CAD or BIM and will have had exposure to CDM regulations within design.
As travel is required, you’ll also have to hold a full U.K driving license.
