EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As an Improvement Manager in our Waste Water Recycling division, you will be part of a team responsible for managing, tracking and improving performance of our Sewage treatment and pumping station sites, particularly in relation to driving compliance and delivering great performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to help make a real difference to the local environment and rivers. The role will look for improvement opportunities allowing us to go beyond compliance and help to deliver on our commitment to have zero impact on our rivers. You will be expected to drive standards and assure compliance through working closely with colleagues in the Waste Water operations teams, aligning your goals, and delivering great performance. You will be working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams providing insight and support where needed.
Within the role, your responsibilities will include identifying areas for improvement, making recommendations, and planning and leading on activities to reduce impact on our rivers from storm overflows. You will become an expert in monitoring equipment, standards and process. You will support and coach local teams and aid the delivery of proactive, corrective and improvement actions. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement activities in WWR and ensuring that regulatory requirements are met.
Fundamentally, you will support local operational teams to deliver great performance, develop and own an improvement plan and provide management assurance and effectiveness checks of corrective, preventive and improvement actions and provide reporting against performance.
This role will be regionally based across the STW region allowing you to work closely with operational teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone with excellent communication & influencing skills that can demonstrate experience of collaborating with and influencing stakeholders effectively at all levels within an organisation. You should have strong analytical skills and be capable of rationalising data from various sources. You will have a positive problem solving mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Waste Water Processes & Procedures, understanding of operations and customer issues and experience of prioritising, planning and delivering outputs to timescales.
It would be desirable if you had experience in process investigations, knowledge of Safer, Better, Faster tools and techniques as well as awareness of regulatory reporting and other compliance requirements.
