At Severn Trent, we’re passionate about making a difference — to the environment, our customers, and the communities we serve. Our people are the heart of our business, and we’re proud to be a place where everyone can be themselves and thrive.

We’re looking for a Regional Community Communications Officer (RCCO) to be the frontline face and voice of Severn Trent in local communities in Worcester and Gloucester. You’ll deliver digital-first, personalised, and proactive communications to customers affected by our projects and disruptions — helping them stay informed, reassured, and engaged.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Working closely with your Regional Communications Manager, you’ll adapt and deliver communications tailored to local needs, maintain a visible community presence, and ensure valuable local insight is fed back to improve future engagement.

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

  1. Local Project Communications Delivery

  • Deliver proactive communications for Tier 1–3 projects
  • Produce accessible updates across multiple channels (letters, flyers, social media, WhatsApp, email)
  • Ensure all content meets brand and accessibility standards

2. Digital Content Creation

  • Create engaging content (images, videos, stories) using mobile devices and editing tools
  • Work with the Digital Content/Social Media Manager to optimise content reach

3. Community Engagement & Insight

  • Act as the local point of contact for customers and stakeholders
  • Host in-person and digital drop-ins
  • Gather and escalate real-time feedback

4. Complaint Prevention & Issue Resolution

  • Spot and resolve early signs of dissatisfaction
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Apply lessons learned to future communications

5. Localisation of Campaigns

  • Adapt central campaigns to suit local audiences
  • Identify local events and channels to amplify messaging

6. Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with parish councils, councillors, and community groups
  • Represent Severn Trent professionally at local events
  • Maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong digital content creation skills
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills
  • A Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the region

We welcome people from all backgrounds and celebrate individuality — because diverse minds help us better serve our communities.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you’ll get being part of the Seven Trent family:

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
