We’re looking for a Regional Community Communications Officer (RCCO) to be the frontline face and voice of Severn Trent in local communities in Worcester and Gloucester. You’ll deliver digital-first, personalised, and proactive communications to customers affected by our projects and disruptions — helping them stay informed, reassured, and engaged.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Working closely with your Regional Communications Manager, you’ll adapt and deliver communications tailored to local needs, maintain a visible community presence, and ensure valuable local insight is fed back to improve future engagement.
Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:
- Local Project Communications Delivery
- Deliver proactive communications for Tier 1–3 projects
- Produce accessible updates across multiple channels (letters, flyers, social media, WhatsApp, email)
- Ensure all content meets brand and accessibility standards
2. Digital Content Creation
- Create engaging content (images, videos, stories) using mobile devices and editing tools
- Work with the Digital Content/Social Media Manager to optimise content reach
3. Community Engagement & Insight
- Act as the local point of contact for customers and stakeholders
- Host in-person and digital drop-ins
- Gather and escalate real-time feedback
4. Complaint Prevention & Issue Resolution
- Spot and resolve early signs of dissatisfaction
- Escalate complex issues appropriately
- Apply lessons learned to future communications
5. Localisation of Campaigns
- Adapt central campaigns to suit local audiences
- Identify local events and channels to amplify messaging
6. Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with parish councils, councillors, and community groups
- Represent Severn Trent professionally at local events
- Maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

- Proven experience in communications and stakeholder engagement
- Strong digital content creation skills
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills
- A Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the region
