EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

We have a exciting new opportunity to join our Waste Network team as a Civils Site Supervisor across the Staffordshire and Shropshire meaning you can be based out of our Strongford, Stoke on Trent site. This role is to take ownership and accountability for the correct scoping and promotion of reactive repairs across your area of responsibility. Covering civils repairs, patching and lining repairs and frame and cover replacements.

 

Taking ownership of reactive repairs to the sewerage network you'll build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the effective delivery of operational works whilst minimising the impact on our customers and their communities. This will be done by working in partnership with the Reactive Leads, Reactive sewer services, Planning and Scheduling teams and our delivery contract partners. Ensuring all promoted work follows correct process and is delivered safely, cost effectively and without risk to our customers or ODIs.

 

The role will include being part of a company standby rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The role will include working across different or regions or areas as required.



 Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Manage reactive repairs, using data to prioritise critical tasks.
  • Conduct site assessments and coordinate with utility owners.
  • Ensure timely and safe completion of repairs linked to mitigation jobs
  • Review and authorise supplier risk and method statements.
  • Provide on-site technical support and conduct safety audits.
  • Oversee the repair budget and ensure proper accounting.
  • Address early warnings and attend performance meetings.
  • Handle customer issues and third-party insurance claims.
  • Manage recharges to third parties and maintain relationships with sewer services and planning teams.
  • Assist the Reactive Repair Manager as needed.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

It would be advantageous to have experience in supervisory or management position or exhibit relevant leadership behaviours and be confident working collaboratively with contract partners and stakeholders across a large geographical area.

 

  • A strong H&S focused mindset, ensuring that no one is hurt or made unwell by our activities
  • A passion for identifying and delivering opportunities for improvement across a wide group of stakeholders
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm in times of high work volume to add value to the customer at all levels.
  • The ability to proactively diagnose and solve problems to give a right first time solution.
  • The capacity to articulate and interpret technical information and specifications.
  • Ability to work well within a team and also alone using own initiative.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt your approach as required
  • Innovative with ability to provide a variety of solutions to problems that occur.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
