Technical Operator
LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
At Hafren Dyfrdwy, we’re passionate about delivering clean, safe water and caring for the environment across Wales. We’re more than a water company – we’re a team committed to sustainability, innovation, and supporting the communities we serve. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and be part of a purpose-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
LET’S TELL YOU MORE
As a Technical Operator, you'll play a key role in keeping our water treatment and supply assets operating safely, efficiently and reliably for our customers. Working across a diverse range of sites, including water treatment works, raw and potable reservoirs, groundwater boreholes and distribution booster stations, you'll be responsible for monitoring performance, carrying out operational checks and ensuring our assets continue to meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and environmental performance.
No two days are the same. You’ll carry out water quality sampling and testing, complete site inspections and safety checks, support maintenance activities, and work closely with contractors and colleagues to resolve operational issues. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved with our hydropower generation stations, gaining exposure to specialist renewable energy assets and broadening your technical skills across an exciting and varied portfolio.
This is a hands-on role that offers plenty of variety, autonomy and opportunities to develop, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems and taking pride in delivering an essential service to our communities.
Please note we have 1 FTC and 1 full time opportunity available.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We're looking for a proactive and safety-focused individual with a passion for operational excellence and environmental responsibility. You'll have the ability to operate and monitor water treatment and raw water assets effectively, ensuring water quality and quantity standards are consistently achieved.
A strong understanding of Health & Safety, compliance, and environmental best practice is essential, along with the ability to follow company procedures and regulatory requirements. You'll be a reliable team player who can work independently when required, respond to operational challenges, and take pride in delivering a vital service to customers.
A full UK driving licence is required, and you'll be willing to participate in a standby rota (1 in 6).
HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU IN RETURN
It's not just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you'll contribute to the environment and community too. Here are some of our favourites:
