We are looking for a Network Construction Manager to come in and be accountable for driving performance and successfully completing the Main renewal scheme activity as allocated within the regional area.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As the Network Construction Manager, your key role is to ensure our customers safely receive a constant supply of good quality drinking water. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, health & safety, people management (12 maximum) and external parties. You will work under CDM (Construction Design Management) Rules and ensures that Severn Trent has a responsible person on site. The Network Construction Manager requires a strong level of understanding of CDM regulations, as this role will have CDM accountability for the sites managed.
Key Accountabilities
- Accountable for team performance, able to lead and inspire a diverse team by providing clear direction, setting appropriate standards of behaviour and motivating and empowering others. Management of 2 Network Construction Teams, including Lead Operatives, Main Layers, Service Layers and Engineers.
- Accountable for Cost Forecasting DMA Mains Renewal Schemes, implementing trenchless technologies to reduce costs and impact infrastructure.
- Responsible for delivering against planned Capital Program Costs, this role will have control of a budget for the schemes it is responsible for.
- Will work alongside the Delivery, Programme and Logistics teams.
- Drive audit/inspection quality and frequency; provide immediate and remedial quality assurance.
- Assist the project team in identifying and mitigating risks to the project success.
- Uphold Severn Trent standards and procedures to ensure a zero accidents culture is achieved.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
For this role the right candidate will have a full driving license and ideally have your National Water Hygiene and NRSWA with significant experience working within utility-based industry. Having experience of working on Infra Mains Renewal schemes would be required and strong team leadership and engagement, able to inspire and motivate. Successfully managing site safety with relevant accreditations such as IOSH and able to evidence experience of planning and organising on-site teams, directing and controlling activities on site would be beneficial.
