Regional Communications Manager
At Severn Trent, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide for employee engagement, and we’re equally proud of our strong Glassdoor score — reflecting how much our people love working here. Join us in making a positive impact on the environment and our communities, while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace.
If you want to do more, because you care, we want you on our team.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As our Senior Regional Communications Manager, you’ll help ensure our customers and communities feel informed, supported and respected during major infrastructure work. You’ll lead integrated 360° communications campaigns that make it clear what’s happening, why it matters, and how we’re working to minimise disruption.
Your work will have a direct impact on customer experience — turning complex technical programmes into clear, timely and reassuring communications that help people plan, feel prepared and understand the benefits we’re delivering for their area.
You’ll partner closely with delivery teams, local stakeholders and agency colleagues to ensure our campaigns are insight‑led, customer‑driven and sequenced around what matters most to the people we serve. By strengthening forward planning and improving campaign quality, you’ll help reduce confusion, prevent escalation and build trust across our region.
There is flexibility of location between our Coventry Head office or our Derby (Raynesway or Pride Park) office and work 37 hours a week Monday- Friday. You’ll work within our Regional Communications Team who are based across our patch.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a communications professional who is passionate about improving customer experience — someone who can turn operational complexity into simple, clear and human communications that help customers feel informed and supported.
You’ll bring experience leading integrated campaigns across multiple channels, ideally in environments where activity has a real and visible impact on the public. You’ll be comfortable influencing a wide range of teams, anticipating risks and using insight to shape the right message, at the right moment, for the right audiences.
Most importantly, you care about outcomes — reducing disruption, improving understanding, strengthening relationships and making sure our customers feel heard.
Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity and empathy matter too. We welcome and celebrate diverse individuals, knowing they help us better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
