LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We are looking for a Statutory Compliance Project Manager to join our Process Safety Compliance Team to manage the implementation and ongoing adherence to DSEAR (Dangerous Substances Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002).
As a Statutory Compliance Project Manager you’ll have a high level of responsibility for the management of DSEAR to achieve full compliance against the regulation and company standards and to provide a crucial service and interface for all Severn Trent (ST) and Hafren Dyfrdwy (HD) stakeholders.
Working alongside internal and external stakeholders your responsibilities will include:
- Completing DSEAR site risk assessments and hazardous area classification
- The assurance of DSEAR Compliance across all functional areas
- Manage the periodic statutory inspection of assets and equipment within hazardous areas
- Supporting remedial rectification of non-compliant equipment and installations
- The management and control of DSEAR activity related risks
- Playing an active role in improving asset data and maintenance planning activities relating to DSEAR
- Providing technical support to the business regarding DSEAR compliance and sharing best practice
- The management of contractors to ensure compliance and delivery of DSEAR inspection and remedial tasks
- Supporting with DSEAR competency improvements across ST & HD.
You will be required to support with related Health & Safety standards, regulation and legislation updates, safety bulletins and accident investigations.
The management of information will be required to measure performance against strict compliance criteria and service level agreements ensuring the ongoing successful delivery of the contracts, and to ensure any issues and risks will be resolved immediately.
You would be responsible for managing internal and external stakeholder relationships via regular review meetings, attending comm cells & team meetings.
The management and control of data associated with DSEAR Compliance will be critical to the role with the development of systems and processes to meet the requirements of DSEAR and company standards.
You will be responsible for both operational and capital financial management related to the delivery of compliance activities.
Close working with the ST capital delivery teams, safety groups and Communities of Practice (CoP’s) will be required to share best practice and drive compliance.
You’ll work within our Health, Safety, Security and Wellbeing team. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of delivering multi-site projects with operational and H&S risk and an excellent understanding of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) associated standards and approved Codes of Practice.
An understanding and experience of the water industry standards and can demonstrate a working knowledge of wastewater and water treatment processes, and the potentially explosive atmospheres that can occur.
Proven experience in the management of contractors and suppliers will be required.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and associated maintenance / operational activities would be beneficial.
The following qualifications are desirable, however, not essential: Electrical/mechanical discipline minimum NVQ level 3, CompEx, APM or equivalent and IOSH/NEBOSH.
This role requires a full UK driving licence.
