Hello. We’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. And we’re pretty keen on people, too.

Our people are what makes Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work. We’re

a team of nearly 10,000 people with a purpose to deliver one of life’s essentials. We do it all while thriving in our unique culture and making a lasting difference to our planet, society, and careers.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Here at Severn Trent, we always want to ensure that all work which we do for our customers is carried out to the highest standards, therefore as our newly created Operational Performance Auditor, it will be your job to ensure that work carried out by our contract partners on the metering installation, repair and maintenance contract meets all required standards, health and safety guidelines and quality control.

You will work closely with our contractor team, Team Leaders and Metering Operations Managers to drive the performance of the contractor field teams and ensure that they contribute to improving our customers experience as well as reducing costs and improving the right first time field performance.

Other key accountabilities in this role include:-

  • Investigate and resolve Health and Safety issues identified by our IRM contract partners – work with the contractor to resolve these outstanding jobs minimising customer impact.
  • Work directly with both customers and internal colleagues who require detailed technical support and help in respect of NHH & metering issues, including meter reading if required.
  • Full compliance to all company and departmental Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Lone Working policies and procedures at all times. Ensure contract partners are working to these guidelines and have appropriate policies of their own in place where appropriate.
  • To take full responsibility for compliance and promotion of safe working practices. Reporting any unsafe practices immediately to reduce risks to others.
  • Monitor, assess and report on the quality of work carried out by our IRM contract partners. Work with the Metering Operations Manager and contractor teams to drive improvements within current process, reduce errors and drive right-first-time completion rates.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.

We will be look for you to have excellent communications skills and experience of working with internal stakeholders, contract partners, field resource and customers.  Along with this, significant technical knowledge of metering installation and maintenance programmes will be essential.  If you are able to demonstrate a clear understanding of regulatory policies including Water Regulations, Electrical Installation Standards and WRAS, this will be a significant advantage for you.

If you have an ability to think objectively to plan, prioritise and resolve work in the most effective way possible, that will be great, as will the ability to work in a demanding target driven environment.  A strong technical plumbing knowledge with confidence to review and discuss work carried out by contract partners and challenge quality and effectiveness of work where required would be a real asset also.
