EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are looking for a Security Design Engineer to join us part time - 2 days a week (15 hours). This position can be based out of any of our main hubs - Finham (Coventry), Raynesway (Derby) or Shelton (Shropshire).
You will work in a joint design and delivery team working on large and small capital projects in both Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.
To do this role you will ideally have experience of working within engineering, worked with design consultants and understand Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations in relation to the design process. You will provide support to Senior & Principal Engineers to deliver projects to programme, within budget and to the correct quality standards.
Your main responsibility will be to develop scopes and provide outline designs and specifications on Security projects
For larger projects you will procure and manage design support services (e.g. Ecology, Private land and planning, Topographical surveys, consultant services) to support the project programme.
You will need to be able to learn processes and procedures, build productive working relationships with colleagues, the supply chain and third-party stakeholders whilst being tenacious in solving problems.
You’ll be involved in projects right through from project inception through to construction and handover to our operational colleagues.
You will need to be able to pass Security clearance.
