EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Bioresources team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Operational Technician.
In your new role, you will be responsible for operational tasks that ensure our treatment process remains compliant with regulatory requirements, while continuously seeking opportunities to fine-tune and optimise operations for greater efficiency and enhanced renewable energy performance.
A key aspect of the role involves recording process health measures, interpreting data, and taking appropriate action based on insights gained. Additionally, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal partners and stakeholders, particularly within the wider Bioresources Team and Wastewater Recycling, to support the delivery of site permit compliance and meet regulatory objectives.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
• Carry out routine tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of allocated Anaerobic Digestion works (This includes sludge thickening process, working with chemicals, Sampling and analysis, optimising processes, viewing SCADA systems, looking at and analysis trends to understand performance etc).
• Undertake onsite process sampling and laboratory analysis, making process alterations as necessary.
• Analyse and optimise the sludge route to drive performance improvements throughout the whole process
• Process data capture and involvement in the day to day first line maintenance of all assets (RCM).
• Comply with health and safety process and asset safety regulations.
• Undertake standby and call out duties as part of a rota-based system.
• Interact with all aspects of major capital investment programs and aid in commissioning and delivery.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
In order to be successful in this role, you’ll need to bring a strong foundation in working with processes and a solid understanding of process systems, automation, hydraulics, and mechanics.
Your ability to confidently navigate IT systems and interpret technical data will be key, as will your experience in solving problems and implementing effective solutions. Just as important is your customer focus—you’ll have experience engaging with household customers and a genuine understanding of their needs, with a proven track record of delivering and improving customer service levels.
