EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


Working within our forward-thinking Water Treatment department we are looking for a Non Infra Team Manager to lead a team of skilled operational technicians (circa 20 people including 2 Senior Techs) across two major water treatment works connected to our strategic grid.

 

You will be responsible for Mythe and Mitcheldean Surface Water Treatment Works therefore, knowledge of operations, maintenance practices, regulatory requirements, employee relations and procedures is key, however you will have support available while you develop into role.


This role will be working out of  Mythe and Mitcheldean but will involve some travel across our South region. You will also participate in an out of hours standby rota covering the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire area.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Ensure all treatment assets are operated and maintained safely, compliantly and efficiently.

  • Be accountable for the performance and resilience of Mythe and Mitcheldean Water Treatment Works.

  • Ensure compliance with DWI, Environment Agency and company requirements.

  • Lead and inspire the team to deliver outstanding performance.

  • Promote investment opportunities where the driver is process improvement, safety, resilience or efficiency.

  • Lead performance improvement through Comm Cells, root cause investigations and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Manage budgets and deliver efficiency savings in line with business objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with external regulators and supply chain partners.

  • Ensure effective emergency planning and incident response arrangements are maintained.

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

Some direct experience in managing, leading and inspiring teams in a customer focused operational environment would be advantageous. Having knowledge of water treatment, maintenance, regulatory requirements and procedures would be desirable. Good interpersonal and communication skills are paramount as you build strong relationships across the business, supply chain and external stakeholders to support delivery.

 

We are looking for someone with a continuous improvement mindset who can identify opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency and performance. The ability to investigate performance issues, implement improvement plans and make prompt, clear decisions in a fast-paced environment is essential. Budget management experience would be beneficial, along with the resilience and leadership capability to consistently deliver high performance from both the team and assets.

 

A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
