This is a Part Time role for 22.5 hrs per week
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Visitor Experience Team look after our visitor sites, anchored by some of our reservoirs and set in some stunning countryside.
We deliver wonderful experiences to our visitors and there really is something for everyone, from bird watching to fishing, and cycling to water sports.
As a Visitor Welcome Host at our Visitor Centre in Carsington that receives over one million visitors per year. We require a motivated individual for a customer-facing role based in our visitor centre. This role will be to support a small visitor centre team and our wider ranger teams.
You will be required to provide great visitor experience at our visitor centre reception by acting as the public face of Severn Trent in person, by telephone, by email and via social media.
You will be responsible for managing a busy site diary including the booking of internal and external events, conference rooms, and training. Whilst carrying out a range of health and safety checks and playing an active part in the reporting, Investigation and resolution of health and safety issues on site.
We are looking for a person with great communication skills as a critical part of the role will include the day-to-day liaison with tenants, colleagues, contractors, partners, and volunteers. Developing and managing key external contacts with Wildlife Trusts, local authorities, schools, and other tourist sites.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Assist in the management of an ANPR car parking system and the sale of parking permits for our visitor sites, gathering information, and taking payments.
- The proactive management of our various social media accounts from content creation to dealing with enquiries.
- Administrative support for a range of activities on site from events to contractors.
- Day to day liaison with tenants, colleagues, contractors, partners, and volunteers. Developing and managing key external contacts with Wildlife Trusts, local authorities, schools and other tourist sites.
- Overseeing a range of financial transactions, purchasing, and cash handling. This will include the use of SAP Success Factor and Concur. Managing the ordering of stock and site supplies.
- Overseeing the safety and monitoring of an interactive indoor exhibition.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We are looking for someone that has an approachable nature and possesses great interpersonal skills whilst having the ability to deal with the unexpected.
You’ll need to have a logical approach to resolving issues and finding the best solution for all.
Excellent communication and Organisational skills and an eye for detail when handling bookings, financial interactions etc.
Strong skills in people management involving visitors, team members and other stakeholders. Excellent problem solving, facilitation and communication skills would be essential.
