The role of a Trunk Mains Operative is to provide effective operation, installations, repairs, and maintenance service on the Company’s Strategic Network infrastructure assets on mains of 12” inches or above– pipes & ancillary fittings. Our team is dedicated to deliver a continuous supply of cleanest water to our customer’s through our infrastructure.
The role requires operatives who are at the top of their profession in terms of technical and competence capability in mains repair and valving.
The role holder will predominantly work regionally on a planned basis however they will also be required to work across different regions or areas as required but especially when responding to Trunk Mains bursts.
This position offers an opportunity to be part of a forward thinking, highly skilled team who are obsessed with our product. You will be working on a variety of equipment under differing conditions so you must have sound diagnostic and problem solving skills.
The role will involve liaison with both internal and external stakeholders to delivery an effective installation, repair and maintenance service.
You would form part of a company standby rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- A full UK driving License is needed as you will be required to independently travel to depots/ bases.
- This role is physically demanding and will require an individual who has good strength and stamina
- The ability to apply rational thinking and technical expertise to resolve complex challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complicated technical messages in a simple way.
- A positive attitude with a strong customer focus are essential. We're looking for individuals who bring energy, empathy, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in every interaction.
