We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Services Manager based in Raynesway (Derby) within our Waste Treatment & Bioresources Design Team.

You’ll perform the role of a Senior Design Services Manager and deliver the consultant led waste treatment and bioresources design programme. You’ll play a key role in leading and managing the project team and project lifecycle, from promotion through to completion of the outline design, ensuring all project deliverables are achieved on time, within cost and to agreed quality standards.

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Project Management: Coordinate, write and manage multiple Service Orders for professional design services so the project deliverables meet the design and project requirements.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between sponsors, designers, planners and other stakeholders.
  • Design Oversight: Guide the design process, understanding inputs required to support the design development, understanding the difference between change and design development and be compliant with Severn Trent’s programme requirements and safety standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks throughout the design phases.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders and the wider supply chain to ensure project alignment and optimal outcomes.
  • Governance: Support the progressions of projects through Severn Trent’s gated process in a timely and efficient manner. Provide necessary information and recommendations to decision-makers at each gate review. 

 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

 

Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent) in a technical engineering discipline or a qualified Project Manager with the APM (Association of Project Managers) or working towards completing these achievements. Experience of managing NEC projects and be a forward thinking and innovative project manager capable of managing multiple complex engineering design projects would be required.

 

Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a strong ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds is advantageous. You’ll have a strong focus on continuous improvement, with the ability to innovate and respond effectively to unexpected issues and challenges.

 

A full UK driving licence will be required.
