Within our Rivers and Flooding area, we’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Flood Mitigation team, helping deliver essential projects that reduce flood risk, protect customers, and strengthen community resilience across our region.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Based at our Raynesway office in Derby, you’ll report to the Lead Project Manager and take ownership of delivering the Flood Mitigation Programme.
You’ll manage multiple low‑value, medium‑risk flood‑mitigation schemes from concept through to completion—ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role combines leadership, stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness, and a strong commitment to safety and community impact.
From defining scope and coordinating design, to managing NEC contracts, engaging customers, and ensuring regulatory compliance, you’ll play a key role in reducing flood impacts across our networks and supporting those we serve.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone with the technical capability, resilience, and people skills to lead meaningful flood‑related projects that matter to our customers and communities.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in flood risk, drainage, or water engineering (desirable)
- Understanding of flood-mitigation techniques, surface water systems, and drainage (desirable)
- Experience working within the NEC project management framework
- Strong application of risk‑management principles, particularly around customers and flood‑affected areas
- Experience working with flood‑risk and civil engineering standards, building regulations, and best practice
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver flood‑mitigation outcomes
- Knowledge and practical application of CDM regulations for infrastructure delivery
- Experience collaborating with supply chain partners to meet milestones, H&S standards, specifications, and quality requirements
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or Environmental discipline (desirable)
- APM or NEC accreditation (desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
