In this newly created role, working as the Technology Capacity and Monitoring Analyst will see you support the management and optimisation of all our monitoring systems and management tools across the IT estate. This will see you focus on the operational upkeep (“feeding and watering”) of monitoring platforms, ensuring accurate alerts, maintaining data quality, and producing clear, actionable reports for engineers and managers.
You will contribute to capacity forecasting and technical debt reporting, working closely with the Tech Ops Capacity and Monitoring Manager to ensure the IT estate is proactively monitored and managed. This role offers excellent exposure to modern IT Operations tools and practices, providing a pathway to develop into a senior specialist or management role.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our monitoring systems reliable and insightful. You’ll take ownership of maintaining and configuring tools, ensuring alerts and dashboards are accurate and actionable. Your ability to turn data into meaningful reports and dynamic dashboards using Power BI will help drive smarter decisions across the business. You’ll forecast capacity needs, spot risks, and support the rollout of new platforms, all while collaborating with infrastructure, application, and operations teams. You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre Head Office in Coventry. You’ll work within our IT Operations team, reporting directly into the Technology Capacity & Monitoring Manager. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
To succeed in this role we’ll be looking for you to have practical knowledge of monitoring platforms and management tools as well as a familiarity with Azure Monitoring and SCOM (System Center Operations Manager). Strong skills in reporting and dashboarding tools, particularly Power BI will definitely be useful as will and Understanding of capacity management principles and reporting.
We’d love you to have an ability to analyse and present data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, while being able to bring enthusiasm for learning and supporting enterprise-scale monitoring solutions will take you a long way.
