Supplier Contracts Lead
Hello, we’re Severn Trent Services – the commercial, non-regulated division of the Severn Trent Group. We specialise in delivering tailored water and wastewater solutions to organisations across the UK, including key clients such as the Ministry of Defence and The Mining Remediation Authority.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and expanding team, as a Supply Chain Manager where you’ll lead a small group focused on managing a complex, high-value supply chain. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of essential services through strategic procurement and framework management across a wide range of categories.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As Supply Chain Manager, you’ll lead a small team to ensure Severn Trent Services has a robust, efficient and compliant supply chain that supports both existing and new contract delivery. You’ll manage multi-million-pound spend across diverse categories—including vehicles, M&E, D&B, R&M, and chemicals—supporting water and wastewater service provision nationwide. With significant growth expected over the next five years, including through acquisitions, your role will be key to driving value and operational support across the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the supply chain requirements of the various STS business units
- Maintain a compliant, cost-effective supply chain aligned with business needs
- Work closely with ST Group Commercial colleagues to align on policies and leverage opportunities and expertise.
- Develop and implement supply chain risk management processes and maintain and approved supplier database.
- Manage framework contractors
- Develop and improve commercial documentation and processes
- Monitor supplier spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide actionable insights
- Lead a team (currently 3) and deliver agreed cost efficiencies
- Resolve supply chain and procurement issues
- Champion the goal of “making buying easy”
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Experience in procurement or contract management
- Ideally CIPS, MICE, RICS qualified (or working towards)
- Strong commercial acumen and leadership skills
- Driving licence required; SAP/Ariba experience a plus
As travel is required, you’ll also need to hold a full U.K driving license.

- Salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
