As a large, FTSE100 organisation effective cyber security and resilience is vital for maintaining customer, employee, regulatory and shareholder confidence and safe conduct of our business operations

 

As a Senior Security Architect, you will play an integral part in the defining and assessing of Severn Trent’s security strategy, architecture and practices.  We’ll look for you to lead a team of Information Security Architects and partner business and technical teams, with the prime function to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into secure solutions enabled by technologies and processes.

 

In this newly created role, you will be reporting directly to the Principal Enterprise Security Architect (PESA) and will be required to deputise at stated times

 

This is a diverse and challenging role and will require you to have substantial people, stakeholder and technical skills, as well as the ability to work under considerable pressure in a fast paced, regulated environment.

 

Other key accountabilities include:-

 

  • Designs and governs the delivery of  security solutions that enable the enterprise to develop and implement effective security services and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology and threat drivers 
  • Develops and maintains security architecture and secure-by-design artefacts and standards that can be used to leverage security capabilities in projects and operations.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the Principal Enterprise Security Architect and the security architects and coordinates with system owners, project managers, delivery teams and wider business stakeholders on the planning and management of security architecture engagements and deliverables.

 

You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre head office in Coventry.  You’ll work within our dedicated team of 10 people and with this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a weekworking Monday to Friday.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

We’re looking for you to have strong strategic planning and communication skills to design modern security solutions, evaluate the financial costs of recommended technologies and translate complex security-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleagues.  It would also be beneficial  for you to have experience in using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman and/or TOGAF and hold security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 LeadAuditor/Implementor

 

We’d also like you to have experience in information security management systems and strong knowledge of the methodologies to conduct risk assessments and threat-modelling exercises on applications and services. Experience of securing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into cloud services and experience in designing IAM technologies or securing operational technology would be massively beneficial.
