EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

We’re looking for an experienced Senior PMO Analyst to play a key leadership role within our Portfolio Management Office. This is a great opportunity to shape how programmes and projects are delivered across Severn Trent, helping to drive consistency, maturity and continuous improvement across our change portfolio.

Working closely with project and programme teams, you’ll lead the development and embedding of PMO frameworks, standards and processes, ensuring they are practical, effective and fully adopted. You’ll also provide clear insight through high‑quality reporting and management information, supporting confident decision‑making at all levels.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll coach and support colleagues, contribute to the ongoing development of PMO capability, and help raise the profile of the PMO through strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of PMO frameworks, processes and standards supporting waterfall delivery
  • Promote consistent PMO ways of working across the change community
  • Support the ongoing maturity of change delivery through effective use of tools and data
  • Produce meaningful management information and reports, turning insights into clear recommendations and actions
  • Facilitate governance forums and workshops, ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences at the right time
  • Manage and maintain PMO collaboration spaces (SharePoint and Teams)
  • Coach and mentor junior PMO colleagues and support knowledge sharing across the organisation
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear, timely and effective communication
  • Take ownership of your personal development, aligned to the PMO competency framework

 

HOW WE WORK

 

You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

You’ll bring strong experience working in an enterprise or portfolio‑level PMO, along with the confidence to lead, influence and improve how change is delivered. You’re organised, analytical and collaborative, with a passion for high standards and continuous improvement.

You’ll also have:

  • Extensive PMO experience supporting traditional waterfall methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, assurance and maturity models
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams, plus planning tools such as MS Project or Planner (Power BI experience is desirable)
  • Proven experience creating and embedding new ways of working, including training and guidance materials
  • The ability to analyse complex data and present insights clearly for different audiences
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills

 

Qualifications

 

Essential:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience
  • Recognised project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent)
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

 

Desirable:

 

  • P3O Practitioner or other PMO certification
  • MSP Practitioner or portfolio management certification
  • Additional project, programme or risk management qualifications
