LET’S TELL YOU MORE
At Severn Trent, we’re driving one of the most ambitious transformation programmes in our history as we focus on resilience, customer outcomes, environmental performance, and long‑term value.
We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to play a leading role in shaping the technology platforms that support essential services for millions of customers every day.
This is a senior, hands‑on role embedded within our Technology function, working across complex change programmes that span enterprise systems, operational technology, data platforms, and customer‑facing digital solutions. You’ll operate at both strategic and delivery levels, helping define direction, influencing decisions, and ensuring that technology investments deliver real business and customer value.
If you’re a Senior BA who enjoys tackling complexity, mentoring others, and working on change that genuinely matters, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading business analysis activities across complex, multi‑workstream technology programmes
- Working closely with architects, engineers, product owners, and delivery leads to shape end‑to‑end solutions
- Owning the analysis approach for projects, setting standards and best practice across the BA community
- Facilitating high‑impact workshops with senior stakeholders to define problems, outcomes, and options
- Translating strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational needs into clear delivery artefacts
- Defining and communicating current‑state and future‑state processes, systems, and data flows
- Supporting prioritisation and decision‑making, ensuring trade‑offs are understood and value is optimised
- Mentoring and coaching Business Analysts, supporting their development and capability uplift
You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre Head Office in Coventry. You’ll work within our dedicated team and then assigned projects. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.
HOW WE WORK
You'll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow, and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That’s why, we value in-person moments to keep our culture alive but also understand the flexibility working from home can bring. So, you'll usually find us in the office, but working from home is supported, when you need it.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’ll be looking for you to be able to demonstrate: -
- Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst within a technology‑led environment
- Proven track record of working on complex systems, integrations, or large transformation programmes
- Strong experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments at scale
- Confidence engaging senior business and technology stakeholders, influencing without authority
- Ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and detailed delivery
- A pragmatic, outcomes‑focused mindset with a passion for improving how technology enables the business
- Experience utilising AI tools and emerging technologies to develop Business Analysis practice, including improving requirements discovery, stakeholder analysis, process mapping, insight generation, documentation quality, and delivery efficiency while applying appropriate governance, data protection, and critical thinking.
Alongside this, it would be desirable if you had experience in utilities, infrastructure, or regulated industries. Exposure to data, digital platforms, enterprise systems, or operational technology would be great, as would an understanding of compliance‑ or resilience‑driven change. A familiarity with process improvement and business transformation initiatives will hold you in good stead.
Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
