STS is a business of £100 million turnover and we are proud to announce recruiting for a Waste Service Contracts Performance and Change Lead.

 

This role is focused on improving performance across WSC and ensuring all contract and regulatory reporting requirements are met. Using data and insight, you will help operational teams prioritise activity, enhance safety, productivity and operational excellence, and maintain transparent reporting for regulators such as OFWAT and the Environment Agency.

 

You will lead and embed operational change across WSC, working closely with leaders to ensure improvements are consistent, sustainable and aligned to business goals. The role also drives innovation through new technologies, enhanced BI reporting, and Microsoft 365 tools, while supporting teams to build their own data capability and delivering efficient, streamlined ways of working.

 

Some of your key responsibilities include: -

 

  • Support the Head of department with the delivery of the WSC leading performance and departmental objectives including environmental, engagement, finance, health and safety and operational performance.
  • Develop a short-, medium- and long-term plan for improving the performance across WSC Operations. Deliver change across department and support wider business initiatives when called upon.
  • Contribute to and constructively challenge any poor performing aspects of the end-to-end process. Provide constructive feedback loops and drive learning at all times.
  • Constantly search for more effective, faster and cheaper ways of delivering outstanding performance.
  • Develop an internal and external network in order to work collaboratively across STS, Severn Trent and key external stakeholders.
  • Lead performance improvement and sustainability through SBF tools and techniques 
  • Building excellent regulator and customer relationships
  • Key contribute to Governance Boards, Learning Panels, comm cell and WSC meetings.
  • Seek out internal and external best practices & innovations. Attend conferences and promote STS.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need experience working within a large field operations environment and a proven track record of delivering sustained performance improvements across diverse teams, both direct and indirect.

You should bring strong stakeholder management skills, along with a passion for driving a positive customer, commercial, and health & safety culture. High levels of collaboration, resilience, and sound judgement under pressure are essential, as is the ability to simplify complex information for others. You’ll need to think strategically while acting tactically when required, and demonstrate strong virtual team management with the ability to influence effectively at all levels.
