SRO Commercial Lead

At Severn Trent we are more than a water and waste company — we’re driving bold transformation through high-impact strategic programmes that support our long-term water resources strategy and the strategic resource strategy (SRO) for England and Wales.

To support this, we are seeking an SRO Commercial Lead to drive the commercial delivery of strategic infrastructure solutions in our SRO team. This high-profile role requires working closely with our regulators and integrating Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) projects. This includes ensuring cost-efficient and innovative outcomes for Severn Trent customers and customers of our partner water companies.

It is our people who truly set us apart. We’re proud to be an inclusive workplace where you can be yourself, grow your skills, and make a real impact. Join our expanding team of passionate professionals and help shape the future of Severn Trent.

LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial management across SRO projects from their conception, through to commissioning.
  • Structure and deliver projects under the DPC framework in line with regulatory guidance.
  • Define and execute sourcing and contract strategies that drive best value and compliance across the SRO portfolio.
  • Lead market engagement with potential financiers, suppliers and partners.
  • Act as a commercial interface with regulators and stakeholders.
  • Support business case development for project and the Regulators’ Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development (RAPID) milestones.
  • Oversee effective contract management including change control, governance, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing commercial team.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement while developing SRO capability across the wider business.

We value in-person collaboration to keep our culture alive but also recognise the benefits of flexibility. You’ll typically spend time in our Coventry office and the offices of our delivery partners.

  • Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker who can navigate ambiguity and develop innovative solutions.
