SAP Integration Developer

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW  

 

We’re currently looking for a SAP Integration Developer to sit within our Shared Services team, which supports our integration platforms including SAP BTP.

 

The SAP BTP platform enables the integration of several existing applications in use at Severn Trent, and is the target integration architecture for all current and planned projects over the next funding cycle. We have some major and exciting projects taking place over this period including completing our migration to the Kraken customer platform, upgrading key line of business applications, and migrating from our on-premise SAP ECC systems to S/4HANA.

 

Our Integrations support team plays a role in advising on, scoping and implementing projects, as well as supporting the integration element once projects are handed over to BAU. This team is therefore key to this development work and we are looking to enlarge it to meet this demand.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, development, testing, debugging, and documenting SAP PI, CPI, Advance Event Mesh (AEM), APIM CIG interfaces and related NetWeaver Gateway programs to meet specific business objectives. You will participate in the generation of High-Level Design Documents, functional specifications and generate detailed technical specifications from which programs may be written.

 

You’ll work closely with Architectural, SAP Functional and Basis teams in the design and development of the integration solutions to ensure that they integrate with other SAP modules / 3rd party systems and conform to the necessary SAP and IT guidelines. You’ll support the transition from development to support, as and when any project / enhancement are moved to production and provide sign-off on completion of transition against agreed acceptance criteria.

 

You’ll be part of the SAP Technical team providing 2nd and 3rd Level Application support to STW business, responsible for triaging of Incidents and Service Requests. You’ll also be expected to provide Out of Hours On call, on a rota basis, for out of hours Operational Support issues relating to the SAP Integration area.

Other key accountabilities include:-

  • Ensure standard requests are completed for the business within SLA and small application changes are delivered in line with priorities, keeping business stakeholders updated at all times
  • Through application lifecycle management, proactively own, investigate and manage software upgrades, ensuring these are completed as required to keep applications in support and patched.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, developers (internal and third party) and Business stakeholders to design solutions that meet business requirements, including the E2E solution development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ensure that all integrations adhere to the defined standards
  • Produce and co-ordinate implementation of integration solutions into production and other non-live environments
  • Active participation in Team/Project meetings, contributing to identification and mitigation of risks, priorities and continuous improvements. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE 

 

You must be able to thrive in a team environment and enjoy working with others to find creative solutions to our business needs. You should have good communication skills, both oral and written, and be capable of working effectively with client teams.

 

You should have strong analysis and problem-solving, planning and organisational skills. You’ll demonstrate excellent attention to detail and show initiative in following up on areas for improvement.

 

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have the following technical experience:

 

Essential

Experience working with SAP PO / CPI

Experience with SAP PI 7.3 or higher

Experience with working on N+1 landscape environment

Experience with SLD architecture and PI architecture

Experience with CTS+ and BTP Transport Management (TMS)

Knowledge and experience with standard PI adapter’s (IDOC_AAE, HTTP_AAE, RFC, Rest, SOAP, FILE, JMS and JDBC)

Experience with CPI Groovy Scripts

Experience of User Defined Functions (UDF’s) and Function libraries

 

It would also be great if you have experience of working with Netweaver Gateway, AEM,  APIM development Areas and hands-on experience in developing and interfacing SAP ECC with SAP Systems (such as SRM) and non-SAP systems using SAP standard interfacing technologies like BAPI, IDOC, WebServices, ABAP Proxy etc.
