Our Risk & Governance team is at the forefront of developing and maintaining the risk, governance, and assurance strategy. Our mission is to embed robust processes and controls across our organisation

 

 

We are seeking a Risk & Audit Analyst to join our Finance team, where you will play a pivotal role in promoting effective risk methodologies and developing, and maintaining the assurance map developing and delivering the annual second line audit plan

 

 

Further responsibilities include:


  • Assist in the development and implementation of key financial controls Support and develop the overall Audit and Risk control framework for Capital Delivery & Commercial.
  • Proactively build relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate focus on the robustness of controls and build a culture of on-going risk management
  • Auditing processes to ensure that activities and processes are compliant with key policies, procedures, regulations and directives.
  • Developing processes to review and challenge contract performance to maximise commercial value, monitor adherence to expected performance levels and drive corrective action where required.
  • Delivery of appropriate internal governance processes and controls; risk management, statutory reporting, internal audit support.
  • Establishing and providing oversight of the compliance and governance framework for the Directorate.
  • Responsibility to manage the key departmental risks and ensure they are appropriately managed via the ERM system.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to close their audit actions, and ensure overall governance of actions and key projects by attending a meeting on a monthly basis.
  • Complete half yearly audit reviews with each SMT member.

 


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

To succeed in this role, you should have knowledge and experience in controls for regulated industries and familiarity with relevant regulations and directives (e.g., Utilities Contract Regulations, UK Competition Act). 

 

You must be able to investigate and develop solutions independently, prepare reliable and accurate data, and identify anomalies.

 

The role requires someone with the ability to incorporate financial and non-financial data to advise and challenge business decisions, provide robust challenges, and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.

 

You should be able to influence at all levels, quickly learn different business areas, and add value to risk registers.

 

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills are crucial

 

Ideally you will hold or be working towards a Risk or Audit qualificataion such as IRMCert, CMIRM or CIA
