Revenue and Billing Assurance Continuous Improvement Lead

LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

At Severn Trent, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide for employee engagement, and we’re equally proud of our strong Glassdoor score — reflecting how much our people love working here.

Join us to make a positive impact on the environment and our communities, while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace.

If you want to do more, because you care, we want you on our team.

LET’S TELL YOU MORE

This is a brilliant opportunity to shape how we protect revenue, improve billing accuracy and make sure our customers are treated fairly. As our Revenue and Billing Assurance Continuous Improvement Lead, you’ll take the lead on improving how we work across the full customer journey from billing through to payment, helping us safeguard revenue while delivering better outcomes for customers and the business.

This role brings together financial control, strategic thinking and transformation leadership, so you’ll be just as comfortable driving long-term improvement as you are getting into the detail of how processes, controls and governance work day to day.

You’ll define and drive the wider revenue assurance approach, making sure billing is complete, accurate and on time, while putting strong controls in place to reduce revenue leakage, errors and risk.

You’ll also play a big part in making sure change lands well, benefits are realised and improvements are embedded in a way that is sustainable, measurable and aligned to regulatory expectations and customer fairness. From reviewing trends and spotting issues, to influencing senior leaders and helping shape the wider direction of Retail and Customer Operations, this is a role with real variety, visibility and impact.

You’ll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry, reporting to Trixie Shelton and lead a wider team  of around 30 employees. You will have the chance to work across lots of different areas, build strong relationships and influence change at pace.  With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

HOW WE WORK

You'll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow, and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That’s why, we value in-person moments to keep our culture alive but also understand the flexibility working from home can bring. So, you'll usually find us in the office, but working from home is supported, when you need it.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’d love to hear from people who have experience in revenue assurance, billing, financial control or improving processes in a regulated or high-volume environment. You’ll be someone who enjoys getting into the detail, using data to understand what’s really happening and building practical solutions that make a difference. You’ll be comfortable working across areas like billing accuracy, revenue recovery, customer adjustments and performance reporting, and using that insight to spot trends, challenge inconsistencies and drive better ways of working.

We’re looking for somebody who is commercially aware, confident working with controls and governance, and comfortable challenging the way things are done to make them better. You’ll know how to put clear frameworks in place, make sure decisions are backed up by evidence and keep a close eye on risk, compliance and customer fairness. You’ll also be confident leading teams and creating a culture where accountability, continuous improvement and doing the right thing for customers really matters.

You’ll need to be a strong communicator who can work with senior stakeholders, bring people with you and turn big ideas into clear operational plans. Experience in utilities, energy, telecoms or financial services would be helpful, but it is not essential if you can show us similar skills from another environment.

Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too.  We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.

HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU IN RETURN

It's not just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you'll contribute to the environment and community too. Here are some of our favourites:
