Resilience Specialist

Our Security and Resilience team have an excellent opportunity to join as our new Resilience Specialist.

 

In this role you’ll be responsible for the promotion, delivery and implementation of the Severn Trent “Being Prepared” programme and Security Policy. You’ll provide guidance and advice to the business in preparing for incidents and emergencies and ensure the delivery of appropriate business continuity, emergency planning and incident management plans in all departments across Severn Trent.

Additionally, you’ll support the Senior Resilience Specialist in the delivery of appropriate incident management training/upskilling is taking place across the company promotion and to actively engage with Local Resilience Forums (LRFs), regulators Water UK and other responder agencies that Severn Trent work with. You will also collaborate with Water UK and other water companies to help develop and promote sector resilience and response arrangements.

 

You’ll also conduct and complete post incident reviews to help embed improvements to organisational resilience.


Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
 

  • Engage with staff at all levels across all departments in Severn Trent to implement the company Being Prepared programme and resilience strategy.

 

  • Ensure appropriate Strategic and Tactical emergency plans are delivered and in place, for all relevant threats and hazards as identified, and the organisation understands the expectations regarding Operational incident plans.
     
  • Support an advise Strategic and Tactical incident managers and lead on Resilience activities during company incidents. This includes supporting the Security and Resilience standby rota. While engaging with staff and external contacts at all levels to deliver the company exercising and testing programme.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
 

We’re seeking our new Resilience Specialist to be comfortable personally influence external Local Resilience Forums partners to represent Severn Trent’s interests and discharge its obligations as a Category 2 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act.
 

To be successful in this role you’ll have a strong work ethic and be a ‘team player’, identifying opportunities for sharing and collaboration with the wider Security & Resilience team, plus other teams within Severn Trent. You must be able to interpret threat and risk intelligence, regulatory documents and resilience guidance and to relate them to Severn Trent’s operations at a Group level.

 

Additionally, you’ll have excellent written skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.

 

As travel is required you’ll also hold a full U.K driving license.
