LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Property team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our technical supplier expenditure (c. £12m) delivers the best value for money. Working alongside another QS, you’ll manage costs, negotiate contracts, and assess on-site work quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit contractor payment applications against agreed rates and resolve queries promptly.
Provide accurate reports on committed spend, accruals, and savings for senior leadership.
Certify payments and maintain detailed breakdowns of jobs and outstanding claims.
Conduct physical audits on at least 15% of high-value work instructions.
Manage competitive tenders for major works (e.g., road replacements, refurbishments, new builds).
Prepare detailed designs and evaluate contractor submissions to ensure best value.

You'll be base out of our head office in Coventry within our Property team. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering and building projects (water industry experience desirable).
Strong commercial and engineering background with professional qualifications (RICS, CIPS, or equivalent).
Skilled in managing contracts, suppliers, and tenders.
Highly numerate with excellent analytical and IT skills (SAP, Excel, etc.).
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
Hold a full U.K driving licence.
