We’re looking for a Performance and Reporting Manager to join our River Health & Enhancement team at our Coventry office.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our Spills Performance & Insights Manager, you will play a key role in monitoring and enhancing the company’s performance in managing storm and emergency overflows. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the company not only meets but exceeds internal targets and external regulatory commitments related to spills.

You’ll oversee performance assessments at asset, area, and company-wide levels, whilst focusing on key metrics such as spill frequency, duration, and compliance risks. This includes supporting the Business Leader and collaborating with wider teams to ensure accurate tracking, real-time discharge reporting, and alignment with SODRP (Storm Overflow Discharge Reduction Plan requirements.

In this role, you will be expected to foster a culture centred on outcomes and customer satisfaction, while delivering measurable performance improvements. A crucial part of your responsibilities will be to effectively prioritise and allocate team resources, ensuring that improvement activities are balanced across all storm overflow performance indicators daily.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide actionable insights from performance data to influence business decisions.
  • Use technical expertise to identify opportunities to reduce spills.
  • Develop flexible measures and reports to reflect performance changes.
  • Identify and implement both major and minor improvement initiatives.
  • Track delivery and benefits of improvement programmes, escalating issues as needed to ensure customer-focused outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

To succeed in this role, you’ll have experience in leading and motivating technical teams, along with a solid engineering or technical understanding of wastewater assets such as gravity and pressure pipes, overflows, pumping stations, and treatment works. A strong understanding of the associated risks, impacts, and benefits of these assets is essential for effective decision-making and performance management.

You’ll need to be confident in analysing complex data to extract key insights that drive performance improvements, as well as the ability to manage multiple high-profile performance metrics and deliver significant improvements. Strong stakeholder management skills are crucial, as is the ability to build credibility and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the business.

Desirable experience includes knowledge of modelling techniques such as Infoworks or HADES, with the ability to scope and interpret modelling investigations. Experience in designing or delivering network and treatment improvement projects would also be beneficial.
