PMO Support

At Severn Trent, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide for employee engagement, and we’re equally proud of our strong Glassdoor score — reflecting how much our people love working here.

Join us to make a positive impact on the environment and our communities, while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace.

If you want to do more, because you care, we want you on our team.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our PMO Support role is an excellent entry point into project and programme delivery, providing you with the opportunity to work at the heart of our change initiatives. As a valued member of the PMO team, you will be embedded within programme teams to help ensure the successful delivery of our organisational projects. This is a 12 month FTC.

In this role, you will provide essential day‑to‑day support through governance, assurance, and high‑quality administrative coordination. You will help implement and embed PMO processes, contribute to reporting and insight generation, and support the ongoing maturation of project management practices across the organisation. You will also play an active role in sharing knowledge and strengthening capability within the change community.

As you grow in your role, you will receive guidance and development support from Senior PMO Support colleagues, Portfolio Office Analysts, and wider team members.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver PMO services in line with our service catalogue and the needs of your assigned programme.
  • Work collaboratively across the PMO team to ensure all services meet agreed quality standards and SLAs.
  • Promote and coach programme teams in the use of frameworks, processes, standards, and templates supporting both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Support requirements gathering and backlog refinement activities when needed.
  • Maintain and organise SharePoint and Teams sites associated with your programme.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across the business and with external partners.
  • Contribute to portfolio maturity assessments and assurance activities, helping to drive continuous improvement based on insights and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance PMO services, processes, and capabilities.
  • Support and upskill colleagues in consistent use of change delivery tools.
  • Actively participate in programme and project meetings.
  • Complete business‑as‑usual administration duties accurately and on time.
  • Provide occasional cover for other PMO team members as required.
  • Take ownership of your personal development aligned to our competency framework.
