We’re now looking for a driven PMO Project Controller to play a pivotal role in the success of our SRO Programme – a high-profile portfolio of critical national projects.
As our PMO Project Controller, you’ll be at the heart of the Programme Management Office, working closely with delivery, environmental, assurance and governance teams – both in-house and externally. You’ll be the go-to expert for risk, change, assurance and insightful reporting, helping steer projects to successful outcomes through sharp analysis and strategic foresight. This is your chance to bring clarity to complexity and make a real impact.
Some of your other key accountabilities include:
- Lead on the implementation of PMO policies and procedures covering risk, change, assurance, analysis and reporting, and ensuring they are embedded and adhered to.
- Be the PMO Champion for Risk Management, change reporting, cost planning and assurance management.
- Support the programme in managing and mitigating key threats whilst identifying and exploiting opportunities.
- Responsible for our SRO reporting insight both internally and externally to our Regulators, providing accurate and data driven commentary in monthly reports to highlight areas of concern and escalation. Ensuring commentary is proactively risk drive with a clear focus on impact and mitigations.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement on PMO Process, welcoming change and promoting PMO as the centre of excellence.
- Sound understanding of project scheduling principles (Critical path, baseline, milestone tracking) to be able to interpret the information on the schedule and challenge where required.
- Lead on the monthly SRO Risk Review meetings and ensure quality, accuracy and adherence to the risk management process.
- Manage and lead on the assurance and governance process required as part of the SRO Regulatory Submission.
- Present on key project insight to senior leaders.
You'll be based at our Head Office in Coventry. You’ll work within our PMO Team. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking our new PMO Project Controller to be comfortable driving a culture of continuous improvement on PMO Processes, welcoming change and promoting PMO as the centre of excellence with:
- Excellent experience in PMO Controls (risk, change, assurance).
- Working knowledge of planning software including OPC, Microsoft Project and / or Primavera P6.
- Ideally you will have experience of working in a busy, fast paced Programme environment with the ability to deliver project milestones within tight delivery timescales.
- You’ll also be a strong communicator and have the confidence to challenge project team members and external suppliers to ensure project schedules are maintained to the agreed timescales and quality standards, risks are managed, assurance is followed, and reporting and governance is clear and concise.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint, Power Bi and specialist tools.
- Experience of building collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ideally, you’ll have or be working towards a qualification/membership of an appropriate professional body (APM/Prince 2).
- You must hold a full driving licence.
