EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We’re looking for a Maintenance Learning and Development (L&D) Consultant to join the Academy, where you will lead on the creation, implementation and sustainability of a learning and development strategy for maintenance within Severn Trent.
You will assess current skill gaps and future development opportunities to identify gaps at individual, role and company level and use this to develop appropriate and cost-effective training solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering training tailored to the needs of Severn Trent Maintainers in Customer Operations using internal and external training providers.
You will also be required to collaborate with stakeholders, evaluate training effectiveness, and always ensure safe working practices.
You will need to be an effective communicator, with the ability to develop and manage relationships with internal and external resources, bodies and suppliers.
Developing and maintaining credibility, expertise and current knowledge will be an essential part of this role.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills to engage and motivate stakeholders and learners. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
An understanding of learning trends and emerging skills in the engineering sector is also important, along with the ability to adapt to a changing world and anticipate future needs.
Ideally you will hold a maintenance qualification or have hands-on experience, working across multiple skills in maintenance operations. A strong understanding of maintenance processes; including water, wastewater, and bio treatment processes and assets are highly desirable
The role will be based at Severn Trent Centre in Coventry, with an expectation to also work at our Academy building in Finham and travel to our regional sites as required, meaning a driving licence is necessary for this position.
