Our Information Security Operations teams are responsible for ensuring that the security of the systems and applications in our Information Security Office are maintained. As a function, we add value by improving these tools through tuning, enhancements and improved adoption, as well as working alongside other areas of Technology to ensure that the solutions delivered meet both industry best practice and compliance requirements.
As an Information Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, updating and management of relevant systems or products, in conformance with agreed security requirements and standards, throughout its lifecycle. You will document the technical designs, implementation and tuning of a combination of security controls to balance prevention, detection, response and useability. This could involve detailed technical design, coding, or hardware prototyping, debugging and documentation.
Other Key accountabilities in the role include:-
- Access Management:
- Define and enforce policies to control access to resources.
- Implement access control models, such as RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control).
- Identity Governance and Administration:
- Manage humans and machines in a hybrid and multi-cloud environment.
- Security and Compliance:
- Conduct IAM audits and assessments to identify and remediate risks.
- Implement security controls to protect IAM systems from unauthorized access and attacks.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor IAM systems for anomalies and potential security threats.
- Generate reports on IAM activity and access patterns.
- Carry out investigations into Identity related incidents and events.
You’ll be based at our Severn Trent Centre site in Coventry. You’ll work within our dedicated engineering team and with this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

We’ll be looking for you to have knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas including Identity Governance and Administration, Access Management, Security and Compliance and Modern Identity.
Also having experience of working within information security operations and engineering functions will be highly desirable along with working on the development and documentation of detailed designs and working within Cyber security and data protection regulations.
